I graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University – Asheville with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in North Carolina. I have 5 years of professional experience providing mental health services to children, adolescents, adults and families in various treatment settings. I am passionate about helping individuals and families feel heard and learn to hear one another. I work with children in a play therapy setting, learning their experiences and teaching skills to carry with them.
I specialize in counseling for children addressing mental health concerns related to anger, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, and interpersonal conflicts in both family and peer relationships. I utilize a variety of theoretical approaches including Play Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Emotion Focused Family Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Equine Assisted Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Therapy. I am also trained in EMDR.
