Hello! I’m Laura. I am a 3rd year graduate student in the Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Lenoir Rhyne University. I’m excited to be a student therapist at Whole Family Therapy under the supervision of Sharon Collins MA, LCMHC, NCC. Before furthering my education, I provided 1:1 therapeutic support for children with mental, emotional, and behavior health needs in Philadelphia public schools; interned in acute psychiatric care and pediatric occupational therapy settings; and earned my RYT200 in Yoga and meditation.
As a predominantly person-centered counselor with an attachment and trauma informed lens, I believe that restoring our innate capacity for authenticity and connection is the foundation that allows self-esteem, wellbeing, and self-actualization to flourish. I am passionate about supporting children, adults, and families with this foundation and empowering them to navigate any challenges that may undermine it.
Other modalities that inform my practice include Expressive Arts Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Emotions Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Somatic modalities, Relational Cultural Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
My goal is to create an environment free of judgment, in which clients can feel truly seen and supported. I look forward to connecting with you!
