I received my master’s in clinical mental health counseling with a certificate in addiction from Appalachian State University. My background is in working with young adults, experiencing anxiety, depression, or grief, and/or going through major life transitions, wanting support with addiction or addiction in their family. I am passionate about helping those who want to make change and are struggling with the motivation to do so. Also I love supporting humans who have always had it all together and now need support. I believe both counseling and healing are full-person activities surrounding the mind, the body, and the spirit. I believe different things will work for different people. I approach and meet every client where they are and may use motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, or client-centered therapy. I enjoy working with young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, substance use, grief and trauma. My primary therapeutic mission is to create a safe, nonjudgmental and warm environment that encourages people to live a healthy, self-compassionate balanced life. My natural energy and clinical approaches are action-oriented and incorporate mindfulness and self-love.
